I was wearing Millet Easy-Ups prior. I’m not aware of any shoe buying guide. I am about to replace my beginner climbing shoes as it was a hand-me-down (albeit it was a decent fit at that point of time) and its starting to feel loose.
I'm looking to buy a good pair of climbing shoes for beginners! While bouldering has become its own category and discipline in the greater category of Rock climbing, I personally feel that one can boulder, gym climb and sport climb all with the same shoe.

I spend most of my time sport climbing indoor, maybe around a 70/30 split of the time, where I engage in bouldering more often than top/lead climbing. r/bouldering: Cordless and proud. I prefer top-rope over bouldering and currently am not planning to ever climb outdoors. Here's all the information that may (or may not) be helpful: I've been climbing for 4 weeks and am climbing 5.8s. It's unfortunate, because it does actually mean you sometimes can't use the really cool new amazing shoe that everyone says is the best thing since sliced bread.

The rubber is thick, they are comfortable, and they last a long time. As others have said, trying different shoes on and finding the best fit is probably best for you. At the end of the day, a great shoe is a terrible shoe if it doesn't fit you well.

Until you've gone through a few pairs, and been climbing a few years, and have tried on 20 different shoes-- it's incredibly difficult to read reviews/take advice and get into the right ballpark regarding what is likely to fit at what size.

Once you hit double digit bouldering problems and 5.hard lead climbs might you be limited by your shoe …

La Sportiva Tarantulas are some of the best beginner shoes in my experience. This a million times. The best shoes on the market are the shoes that fit you the best, PERIOD, regardless of brand or design. I'm a complete beginner and have been indoor bouldering a handful of times. Therefore I want to get myself a pair of shoes that will probably be for entirely indoor bouldering and general indoor climbing, I prefer bouldering though. As a beginner don't worry too much about having the best climbing shoes as they will all work pretty well for you; focus on getting a pair that does not hurt but fits so you can feel your toes hitting the end of the shoe. I've really enjoyed it and want to start doing it lots more.

You have stated that you’re a beginner and you’re predominantly interested in Bouldering.
